Blue Moon Inspiration

Last weeks' New Year's Eve marked history because it was the first Blue Moon in about 20 years to occur on that holiday.

Anyone who knows me or has read this blog knows that I am inspired by the moon, so I gave some thought about what that Blue Moon could mean for my life.

It occurred to me that something else hasn't happened in quite a while--I haven't written in this blog--it's been about 6 months!

Now I'm not one to make resolutions, mostly because I think that if a person "fails" to keep up a resolution, it's just too easy to give up on the whole thing.

But, truth be told, things simply don't get done when we don't make a point of making them happen. The best way to do this is to write down your goals and objectives. There's just something about that process that makes the goal real, and then you can quantify it.

So I'm announcing "publicly" (and I put that in quotes 'cause I'm not really sure my blog has a 'public' to speak of!) that I plan to get to work writing again.

Announcing something always makes me do it, 'cause I can't stand to eat crow for NOT doing something I said I'd do!

Over the years, I've been able to lose 10 lbs. (gotta announce THAT one again), get in condition for my first 5 K, change jobs, complete projects around the house, start my blog and get into a play, just to name a few goals that I have successfully met.

So if my method continues to work, I will write at least one blog per week--on any topic--just to get the writing muscles exercised.

I have a wonderful life--really--there is nothing I'd change about what I already have--but I do feel that there is something deep in my soul that I need to express, experience or accomplish, and no one can find out what that is until they do something about it. In this facet of my life, I'll start writing.

So now I hope--expect--that my writing will be a little more frequent than say--"Once in a Blue Moon," no matter how lovely that moon is!

Happy New Year!
